Dr. Queen Sarkar is working as an Assistant Professor-II (English) in the School of Economics and Commerce (KSEC) at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. With a Ph.D. earned from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, West Bengal, India, her scholarly pursuits delve into plant humanities, history of ideas, cross-cultural communication, cultural studies, business and professional communication, adaptation, and appropriation. Dr. Sarkar's contributions to academia extend to a range of publications, including review articles, poems, and research papers. Her prowess as a multilingual poet has transcended linguistic boundaries, with her works finding translation into Spanish, Arabic, and Gujarati, accompanied by recognition from Sahitya Akademi, Gujarat, India. She has received invitations to various prestigious events, including moderating sessions and presenting her research at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA (fully funded). Notably, she was appointed as the Ambassador of Good Will Seeds of Youth XXI Century, India by the distinguished United Nations of Letters (Uniletras), Colombia. Her research proposal for the University of Oregon, Eugene, USA international conference was recently accepted, securing full funding for her research and participation. Furthermore, she was invited to lead panels at the University of Oregon, Eugene, USA and the Global Plant Humanities Network International Conference, Kathmandu, Nepal, facilitating meaningful intellectual exchanges with scholars worldwide. Currently, Dr. Sarkar is engaged with Fashioning the Asian Century, part of Bloomsbury Fashion’s brand-new series Perspectives of Global Lifestyles, as well as the Colleges and Their Communities book project with Rutgers University Press, New Jersey, USA. She was also selected as an International Writing Fellow at the 27th Iligan National Writers Workshop, held at Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), Iligan City, Philippines.
