Bio-Notes

Deka is a PhD Research Scholar in the Department of English, Gauhati University, Guwahati, India. His research engages critically with Memory Studies, with a sustained focus on Palestinian narratives produced under conditions of occupation and displacement. Drawing on interdisciplinary scholarship from trauma studies, postcolonial theory, feminist criticism and human rights literary studies, his work develops a coherent analytical framework for reading Palestinian texts as both aesthetic works and political interventions. His research examines the politics of remembering and forgetting and treats memory as a contested epistemological and political space. It foregrounds memory as a counter archival practice that challenges settler colonial erasure and asserts narrative agency under conditions of ongoing violence.
